Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit is a program to edit and debug JavaScript scripts. It is usually included with Adobe Products. Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit 2.0 comes with CS3 Suites or with separate applications like Adobe Bridge CS3, Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS3, and After Effects CS3. It is not included with Adobe Premiere CS3.
As with most script/code editing applications, this one also tries to mimic the editing style of Microsoft Visual Studio. So, it uses auto-complete, which lists all functions and variables in a small menu while you are typing, and you can select the function or variable you need. This reduces how much you need to type and makes the program more interactive. Also, different types program code like keyword, identifiers, literals, operators and punctuations are easily identifiable because, they are automatically given separate colors.
It also has option for debugging with options "Step Over", "Step Into", etc.
ExtendScript Toolkit uses a different type of javascipt called ExtendScript ( an extended form of JavaScript language with some more functionality. So, it makes easier use of the Adobe API. So, it can help in automating Adobe Programs like Photoshop.
"Script UI Classes" lists all the classes and its properties (variables), and methods (functions), with a short description. But there are no code examples.
Overall, this program is quite good for advanced javascipt editing with some limitations.
